Smuggled diesel fuel seized


MANILA, Philippines - Marine troops in Palawan seized on Thursday P320,000 worth of smuggled diesel fuel from Malaysia.

Navy spokesman Lt. Col. Omar Tonsay said men of the 212nd Marine Company, acting on a tip from residents, apprehended a motor launch filled with diesel while anchored in Barangay Taratak, Bataraza town.

The search resulted in the seizure of 32 drums or 6,400 liters of diesel fuel without pertinent documents and the arrest of the boat’s three crewmen.
