At least one person was killed while 525 people were displaced following a clash between two groups led by commanders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Cotabato last Feb. 1.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said over the weekend the incident occurred last Feb. 1 at 5 p.m., at Sitio Langaban in Gaunan village in Mlang town in Cotabato.
In a report on the incident posted on its website Sunday, the NDRRMC identified the fatality as Tambaing Bationg, 48.
Citing initial reports, the NDRRMC said the armed confrontation was between the groups of commanders Gani Saligan and Sabel Manwang.
It said 105 families or 525 people were affected.
The affected families were brought to the Lepaga Elementary School, Purok 4 Center in Lepaga village, the local mosque, and the house of a local councilor. — LBG, GMA News
