IED explodes in North Cotabato, damages bus

An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded along a road in Carmen town in North Cotabato province early Monday.

Sketchy reports reaching the Philippine National Police showed the incident occurred at 6:10 a.m. along the national highway, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.

PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said they are still verifying if there were people injured in the explosion.

Cruz cited initial information indicating fragments from the IED hit a passing Rural Transit bus (body number 2930, plate number KVS-690).

The bus was reportedly heading to Tacurong City from Cagayan de Oro.
