Abu Sayyafs bomb bridge in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Abu Sayyaf bandits bombed a bridge in a hinterland village in Sulu, a military official said Tuesday.

No one was hurt in the blast that happened around 9:45 p.m. Monday in the village of Taung, Patikul, Sulu, said Second Marine Brigade commander Brigadier General Romeo Tanalgo.

The military official said the blast damaged the Tangantangan bridge and rendered it impassable to all types of vehicles.

Tanalgo said the explosion has delayed the transport of people and goods. (Bong Garcia/Sunnex)
