NPA leader in Quezon nabbed


MANILA, Philippines - The Armed Forces' 21st Infantry Brigade in South Luzon has arrested the head of the New People's Army in Quezon Province.

The suspect, Miguela Pinyero alias Ka Migs or Ka Lala, 40, was arrested in Barangay Calantipayan, Lopez town last Saturday.

Pinyero reportedly belongs to the NPA’s guerilla unit squad in Bundoc Pensinsula.

Pinyero was served with four warrants of arrest for murder, frustrated murder, malicious mischief and robbery.

Authorities said they also recovered a firearm, a hand grenade and other communication equipment used by the NPA.
