NPAs attack Davao City outpost; 2 soldiers hurt


DAVAO CITY – Two soldiers were wounded when New People’s Army (NPA) rebels swooped down on an Army detachment in Paquibato district this city yesterday morning, authorities said.

Police said the guerrillas attacked the detachment of the Army’s 72nd Infantry Battalion in Barangay Malabog.
A firefight ensued, lasting for almost three hours and leaving two soldiers wounded.

The NPA attackers were reportedly led by Leoncio Pitao, alias Commander Parago.
