Cops score against terrorism


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera Chief Inspector Allan Guyguyon led a team to arrest Boy Abdulpahta or “Boy Pahta” early morning of December 30.
Police records revealed Abdulpahta is a suspected member of the Abu Sayyaf group who has been hiding for a long time now and wanted for murder.
Guyguyon arrested the hiding terrorist in Barangay Kumarang, Isabela City, with the Basilan’s Special Action Battalion led by Chief Inspector Arinio, Regional Intelligence Division PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula, and Isabela police.
Abdulpahta was allegedly involved in the beheading of 11 Marines in 2007 and the kidnapping incident in Dos Palmas in Zamboanga.
Abdulpahta is now under the custody of the Special Action Battalion in Zamboanga City.
On January 2, police scored another terrorist when Arnel Balucas of the Communist Party of the Philippines New People’s Army-National Democratic Front peacefully surrendered in Abra. (Ma. Elena Catajan)
