An exchange of gunfire started when 10 gunmen attacked a reconnaissance platoon of the 17th Infantry Battalion in the village of San Miguel in Baggao municipality.

Lieutenant General Arturo Ortiz said, Philippine Army commanding general, said no one was killed on the government side.

Troops recovered high powered firearms and ammunition at the clash site.
